Import from Anki
Bring your decks, review history, and media into Rondo.
Export from Anki
In Anki, open File › Export. Choose Anki Deck Package (.apkg) for a deck or Anki Collection Package (.colpkg) for everything. Include scheduling information and media. Both the current format and the older one ("Support older Anki versions") work.
Choose how to import
Open Home › Import from Anki (or Profile › Import).
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Make it editable | On by default. Turns Anki's HTML into Rondo cards: formatting, clozes, MathJax and furigana become Rondo's own, images and sounds get fields of their own. Standard Anki types become Rondo's built-in ones. |
| Include review history | On by default. Brings every past review, for Progress and a schedule fitted to you. Off brings only where each card stands. |
| Deck | Where the imported decks go: the top level, or inside one of your decks. |
With Make it editable off, cards keep Anki's own HTML and look exactly as they did in Anki, but can't be edited in Rondo. You can change your mind later: open the deck and choose Convert to Rondo format, which makes an editable copy and keeps your progress.
Choose the file
Choose Choose file and pick the package. It is read on your device; only your decks, notes and media sync afterwards, as usual.
When it's done, Rondo says how many notes and media files came in, and how many notes didn't fit (a field over 64 KB, say) and were left out.
Image occlusion
Anki's Image Occlusion notes become Rondo's: rectangles, ellipses and polygons each become a mask.
Importing the same package twice makes a second copy; delete the first from Decks if you don't need it.
