Community rules

What can be shared on Rondo, and what happens when something breaks the rules.

Rondo is for learning. Most of what's on it is private: your decks, your notes and your progress are yours, and no one at Rondo looks at them. These rules are about what reaches other people: decks on Discover, decks you share, profiles and names.

Don't share

  • Spam: decks that advertise, or many copies of the same deck.
  • Harassment and hate: attacking people, or groups of people for who they are.
  • Sexual content, and anything that sexualises minors.
  • Impersonation: pretending to be someone else, or Rondo's staff.
  • Other people's work without permission, such as scans of a textbook.
  • Anything illegal.

Names, usernames and flags follow the same rules.

What happens

Moderators look at what people report and at what stands out. Each step comes with the reason, and you're told in the app (or by email when you can't sign in):

StepWhat it means
WarningNothing changes yet; another step may follow.
RestrictionFor a while or for good: you can't publish, share, invite or change your name, and your profile and decks aren't shown to others. Studying and syncing work as always.
Removed from DiscoverThe deck stays yours and can be shared privately, but it can't go back on Discover. For illegal content and copyright, people who followed it lose it too.
Name resetYour username and display name are reset; pick new ones whenever you like.
BanYou can't sign in, for a while or for good. Your decks stay on your devices. A Stripe subscription stops renewing until the ban ends; one from the App Store or Google Play has to be cancelled there.

Steps usually build on each other: warnings first, then restrictions, then a ban. Spam and illegal content can skip ahead.

Report something

Choose Report on a deck or a profile, pick what's wrong and add anything that helps. For illegal content, say which law it breaks and why. Reports are reviewed by people; you're told when yours was. Reports made in bad faith count against the person who made them.

Think it's a mistake?

Write to [email protected] from the address you sign in with, and say what happened. Every step can be undone.
